The Terminal Core Redevelopment (TCORE) project initiated by the Port of Portland at Portland International Airport (PDX) is a significant endeavor to expand the terminal to enhance capacity and streamline passenger flow. This project aims to optimize the airport’s functionality, sustainability, and earthquake resilience by creating healthier and more efficient spaces. PACE’s specific focus with this project is designing the supports for mechanical and plumbing utilities required for the airport expansion. Our job is to ensure the utilities can function for the development. For example, designing where the rainwater will go and what happens to the utilities during an earthquake.
