PACE developed the Preliminary Hydraulic Design report and supporting analyses to replace a fish passage barrier at the I-90 crossing of Sunset Creek in Bellevue, WA. The team provided SRH-2D analysis, sediment mobility assessment, hydrology evaluation, conceptual large woody material (LWM) layout, and surveying. Now in the Design-Build phase, PACE is leading the stream and habitat design. The complex crossing runs beneath I-90 and two adjacent city roads. Notably, this is one of the first highway projects to propose using LWM within the crossing, enhancing habitat areas while addressing hydraulic challenges.
