This system exceeded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s and the state’s maximum contaminant level for arsenic and contained high levels of iron and manganese. PACE evaluated the system, including preparing a hydraulic analysis for fire flows, a reservoir storage analysis, and a water quality study including a pilot test to evaluate options for removal of the arsenic, iron, and manganese. PACE completed the civil design for the new 410,000-gallon steel reservoir, new pump station, and treatment facilities.
