PACE provided the civil design for a Department of Ecology (Ecology) grant-funded project to retrofit the Valley Mall Parkway Municipal Parking Lot using pervious asphalt pavement and other LID features. PACE prepared a pre-design report, including an alternatives analysis to improve parking lot circulation, enhance pedestrian mobility and safety, and improve storm drainage collection and treatment using only LID components for flow control and treatment. The design also included a new pedestrian crossing with pedestrian-actuated flashing beacons. On an expedited timeline, PACE completed the pre-design report, coordinated with Ecology for concurrence, and prepared construction plans and specifications for the improvements.
